PRESENTING THE GOSPEL
SECTION OVERVIEW
The purpose of this section of the course is aimed at helping each Christian become more effective in their “Personal Evangelistic” efforts. To accomplish this there will be four sections to study. Each section contains one set of lessons which will address a specific perspective related to evangelism. There are also assignments that are to be completed in each section
LESSON ONE
APPROACH TO STUDYING SCRIPTURES

FRIDAY
Role play with your partner as if you are leading him/her to Christ. In your role playing, read each of the scriptures and explain them. At the conclusion of sharing the scriptures ask the person with whom you have shared the scriptures if they understand what you have just read, or if they have any questions. These will be extremely important questions to ask in a real witnessing situation. Finally conclude the sharing of this portion of scriptures with the question “Do you agree that the Bible teaches us that all of mankind is born with the need for salvation?”
THE METHOD THAT WILL ALLOW THE WITNESS TO BECOME WELL GROUNDED IN THIS ASPECT OF WITNESSING WILL BE THROUGH THE STUDY OF GOD’S WORD AND ALSO THROUGH ENGAGING IN PRACTICE WITNESSING SESSIONS.
THE MATERIALS NEEDED ARE A BIBLE AND ANOTHER CHRISTIAN THAT WILL ROLE PLAY THE PART OF THE PERSON BEING LED TO CHRIST.

LESSON FOUR
THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS LESSON IS TO FAMILIARIZE THE WITNESS WITH GENERAL PRINCIPLES ON HOW TO EXTEND AN INVITATION TO SOMEONE TO RECEIVE CHRIST. TO ASK SOMEONE TO RECEIVE GOD’S SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST CAN BE REGARDED AS “STEP FOUR” OF THE WITNESSING PROCESS.
THE GOAL OF THIS ASPECT OF WITNESSING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF ALL EXISTENCE—LEADING SOMEONE TO GOD THROUGH CHRIST IN PRAYER. THE ONLY WAY FOR A PERSON TO EXCEPT CHRIST IS WHEN SOMEONE HELPS THEM TO REALIZE AND AGREE THAT HE HAS A NEED FOR SALVATION AND THAT GOD HAS PROVIDED JESUS AS AN ATONEMENT FOR SIN, TO ALL WHO WILL CONFESS, REPENT, BELIEVE ON AND RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST.”
APPROACH TO STUDYING SCRIPTURES
Role play with your partner as if you are leading him/her to Christ. In your role playing, read each of the scriptures learned in “step one, step two, and step three and explain them. At the conclusion of sharing the scriptures ask the person with whom you have shared the scriptures if they understood what you have just read, or if they have any questions.
Finally conclude the sharing of all three portions of scriptures with the question “ do you agree that the Bible teaches us that all of mankind is born with the need for salvation, and that God has provided Jesus’ death as the payment for our sins, if we confess our sins, repent, believe on and receive Jesus as lord of our life.” When the person agrees that this is the truth, ask the person if they would like to receive God’s salvation; which is everlasting life in eternity. When the person responds positively, lead the person in prayer, having the person to repeat after you. Your prayer should include all of the truths about salvation that you have shared in steps one, two and three.
Your prayer might follow this model
Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your only begotten Son who died for my sins but rose on the third day. I believe that you will forgive me of my sins today as I ask for forgiveness in His name. God I truly repent of sin and invite Jesus to live in my heart as the Lord of my life. Lord thank you for saving me this day and I now turn from sin and I purpose to live my life according to every Word spoken by Jesus Christ, my Savior and my Lord. Amen.
